These SMS Terms & Conditions apply to text messages sent by or on behalf of The Land Conservancy of San Luis Obispo County (“The Land Conservancy,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
By opting in to receive text messages from The Land Conservancy, you agree to these SMS Terms & Conditions.
The Land Conservancy does not use SMS opt-in information or mobile phone numbers for third-party marketing.

The Land Conservancy of San Luis Obispo County will collect opt-in verbally or in written format from our customers. Customers will be able to opt in to receive conversational messages either in person at a physical location, over the phone call if the customer calls The Land Conservancy of San Luis Obispo County. When customers are registered for the first time, they will be asked to provide their phone number, and our staff is trained to ask if they would like to opt in to SMS-based notifications. They will be verbally informed that “Message and data rates may apply”, “Message frequency may vary”, and that they can “text HELP for support or more information and STOP to unsubscribe at any time”. SMS Program Description
The Land Conservancy may send conversational and informational text messages to people who have provided their mobile phone number and agreed to communicate with us by text.
Messages may include scheduling and meeting coordination, event or volunteer coordination, program or project follow-ups, requests for a phone call, landowner, donor, partner, or community communications, reminders or updates related to our nonprofit mission and activities, etc.
Consent to Receive Text Messages
You may opt in to receive text messages from us by providing your mobile phone number and agreeing to communicate with us by text. Consent may be provided verbally, in writing, through a form, during event or volunteer registration, during donor or landowner communications, or through another direct interaction with our staff.
Consent to receive text messages is not required to make a donation, volunteer, participate in an event, or otherwise interact with The Land Conservancy.
Message Frequency
Message frequency varies depending on your relationship with The Land Conservancy and the nature of the communication.
Message and Data Rates
Message and data rates may apply to text messages sent or received, depending on your mobile carrier and mobile plan.
Opt Out
You may opt out of receiving text messages from The Land Conservancy at any time by replying STOP to any text message from us, by calling our main office at 805-544-9096 or by emailing privacy@lcslo.org
After you reply STOP, we may send a confirmation message to let you know you have been unsubscribed. After that, you will receive no further SMS messages from us unless you opt in again or unless otherwise permitted by law.
