As part of their membership, gift recipients will also enjoy special benefits such as hikes on private lands and inside information about conservation projects. Donate now online and then notify info@lcslo.org that you are making a donation for a gift recipient. Please include the gift recipient’s name, mailing address, and optional email and telephone contacts. We will make sure they are notified of your gift membership!

Better yet, donate in person at our San Luis Obispo office and pick out a Land Conservancy hat, t-shirt or water bottle to give with your gift!

If you’ve visited the Pismo Preserve trails, you have no doubt seen our “Wall of Trailblazers” celebrating those who have made the conservation and ongoing stewardship of this central coast gem possible. With any donation of $1,000 or more to the Pismo Preserve fund, you too can make your mark.

Celebrate a special event or occasion with a gift that forever protects local lands. Your donation is a thoughtful way to commemorate milestones and will surely be appreciated by the recipient. With your donation, send your desired inscription up to 80 characters in the “Notes” field. Leaves are ordered and installed roughly every three months. You will be notified when your leaf is ready for viewing!

Consider using your leaf inscription to celebrate a:

  • wedding
  • birthday
  • new baby
  • retirement
  • graduation
  • anniversary
  • bar/bat mitzvah
  • memorialize a loved one

There are many tax benefits to giving stock or other securities such as bonds or mutual funds to The Land Conservancy. If you have held your stock for more than one year and it is now worth more than you paid for it (appreciated), you could receive a greater tax benefit than if you had given cash.

Fill out this form to inform us of a stock transfer. Email our Development Manager, Heather Mullin, at heatherm@lcslo.org for more information.

Bequests, planned gifts and legacy donations from your estate will help ensure that the places you cared about and worked for in your lifetime are preserved even after you are gone. By including us in your vision you are invited to join our Terra Firma Society, a group of donors whose vital support and vision for the future of San Luis Obispo County will make an impact for generations to come.

Most large companies in our area have a matching program for their employees – including PG&E, ConocoPhillips, Apple, ING, and General Electric. Many of these companies even provide matching gifts for retirees and volunteers. Double the impact of your donation by asking your employer to match it. Check with your HR staff to find what your company can do.

Our professional staff and Board of Trustees have decades of experience helping private property owners leave a lasting legacy of land conservation. In addition to conservation properties, gifts of commercial or residential real estate are greatly appreciated. Landowners seeking to leave a conservation legacy can email Conservation Director Kyle Walsh kylew@lcslo.org or call (805) 544-9096.
