Santa Rita Ranch Hike – Easy

View of reservoir at Santa Rita Ranch in the summer. Grass is brown and green oak trees dot the hill behind the water.

Join The Land Conservancy for a hike on the 1,700-acre scenic Santa Rita Ranch west of Templeton. This working landscape features towering valley oaks, dense bay laurel forests, and remarkable freshwater lake. The Ranch is also home to serpentine grassland outcrops and supports a variety of rare and endemic flowering plants and succulents.

This “easier” version of the ranch tour will take the group on a 3 mile “out and back” past the 234 acre-foot reservoir that feeds the Santa Rita Creek below, and into a scenic valley surrounded by oak woodlands and spectacular sycamore trees.

This hike will begin promptly at 9 am and we should be back at our vehicles by 11:30 am.

The Land Conservancy purchased Santa Rita Ranch in 2020 to permanently protect precious freshwater resources and homes for wildlife.

To RSVP, please fill out this Google Form. RSVPs will receive an email with directions and further details the week prior to the hike.
