Join our volunteer team as a tour docent for the historic Octagon Barn! Dive into the rich heritage of this architectural gem, which dates back to 1906 and played a pivotal role in San Luis Obispo’s dairying history. As a docent, you’ll have the chance to share fascinating facts about the Barn’s unique octagonal design, its past functions as a dairy barn, its restoration, and its current use as a community gathering space. We’re seeking passionate individuals who are eager to bring the past to life and contribute to preserving this iconic landmark’s legacy. Join us in unraveling the stories within the Octagon Barn’s walls and become a vital part of our shared history!
There will be four training dates for new docents, each of which will build upon the last. They will be on January 28th, February 11th, February 25th, and March 10th, all at 1:30-3:30 at the Octagon Barn Center.
Please reach out to Niki at nikiu@lcslo.org if you are interested in attending docent training!
