Cain grew up playing hockey and lacrosse in Omaha, NE. He graduated from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln in 2014 with a B.S. in Environmental Restoration and a minor in Water Science. After graduating, he moved to Rapid City, SD where he began working for the U.S. Forest Service on a wildland fire engine.
Cain moved to San Luis Obispo in 2016 where he spent the next four years as a crewmember on the Arroyo Grande Hotshots. Cain joined the Land Conservancy of San Luis Obispo County in December 2019 as a Conservation Project Manager.
His work includes developing conservation easement and land acquisition projects, grant writing, GIS analysis, and assisting the Stewardship Team with easement monitoring and baseline documentation. In his spare time he enjoys surfing, fishing, and trail running with his dog Ozzie.
