Lower SLO Creek Trash and Invasive Plant Removal

LCSLO is partnering with the Watershed Stewards Program to help improve steelhead habitat by removing trash and invasive plants from in and around SLO creek!

Are you interested in the health of our creeks and steelhead population? Do you want to learn more about watershed health and take action in your local anadromous creek? The Watershed Stewards Program and The Land Conservancy of SLO County are hosting a restoration event at LCSLO’s Lower SLO Creek Floodplain Preserve.

We will be removing invasive plants such as cape ivy, English ivy, and castor bean along the creek. In addition to this, we will removing trash from in and around the creek to protect steelhead habitat and help restore the creek.

No experience is needed to participate! Please bring sturdy closed-toe shoes, long sleeves, long pants, sunscreen, water, a hat, and waders if you have them. We will provide water, snacks, gloves, and some waders! In the event of rain, the event will be rescheduled. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out!
