We Have a Map!

For years we have struggled with an adequate interpretation of the 15,200 acres we have worked hard to protect over the past 30 years. With such a diverse county and widespread county, it was a challenge to include locations of all the conservation easements and fee-owned properties captured in one succinct image without all the representative dots overlapping each other. Then there is the issue of a landowner’s privacy. We finally came to a great solution and thanks to our talented staff, we were able to put our conservation story map together to show you the scope of our work. Please note that not all of these properties are available for public access. In fact, there are limited public access sites which are the ones noted in green. The properties noted in blue have limited access, generally meaning that with the landowner’s permission, we have the potential to invite members on a docent-led hike. And lastly, the properties in red are not accessible to the public.

We hope you take the time to look through some of the lands that we have protected. Our next challenge will be to include all the properties where we have completed restoration work! So stay tuned…
