On October 18th The Land Conservancy of San Luis Obispo hosted the California Conservation Corp’s (CCC) third annual statewide volunteer day at the recently acquired Pismo Preserve in Pismo Beach. Over 60 volunteers came together to work on cleaning up the entrance to the Preserve, removing old fence lines and installing the temporary Preserve entrance sign.
“It is impressive how much work the team of volunteers accomplished in only four hours. I think everyone enjoyed the scenic views, and went home satisfied with knowing that they were a part of the first volunteer event held at Pismo Preserve,” said Dylan Theobald, Stewardship Manager.
Partnerships and volunteer events like this are an important part of the Land Conservancy’s mission and will contribute to the goal of eventually opening Pismo Preserve up to the general public. Check out our Events Calendar for updates about future volunteer opportunities at Pismo Preserve.
