August 12, 2022 - 9:00 - 10:30
Join us for outings at the Pismo Preserve throughout August with staff and special guests for our summer hiking series.
Overview: These hikes and workshops will take place on Vamonos Trail. The difficulty is moderate due to a few steep hills. The Vamonos Trail meanders through a canyon with ancient oaks, a few fun bridge crossings, interesting rock formations and breathtaking ocean views. The trail is family friendly and suitable for children.
Please arrive early to allow time for parking. The group will meet at the kiosk on the southern end of the parking lot near the restrooms and picnic tables. Please bring a water bottle, sunscreen, and hat.
Photography Workshop: Get to know those who call the Pismo Preserve home and learn more about conservation photography through community science, learn about our wildlife camera project, and learn some basics of wildlife photography. All levels of nature photographers from beginner to expert are welcome. We are hoping to collaborate on skills and share our favorite nature photos. A picture is worth a thousand words so please be sure to bring your own camera or smart phone with a camera.
