Pismo Preserve Summer Hike Series: Native Plants

August 5, 2022 - 9:00 - 10:30

Join us for outings at the Pismo Preserve throughout August with staff and special guests for our summer hiking series.

Overview: These hikes and workshops will take place on Vamonos Trail. The difficulty is moderate due to a few steep hills. The Vamonos Trail meanders through a canyon with ancient oaks, a few fun bridge crossings, interesting rock formations and breathtaking ocean views. The trail is family friendly and suitable for children.

Please arrive early to allow time for parking. The group will meet at the kiosk on the southern end of the parking lot near the restrooms and picnic tables. Please bring a water bottle, sunscreen, and hat.

Native Plants Interpretive Hike: Join us as we hike with a Central Coast naturalist and get to know some of our native plant species. This hike will focus on how native plants have been used for thousands of years by the Chumash peoples. Please be prepared to stop and talk frequently and come with your curiosity cap on!
