Join The Land Conservancy for a hike on the recently-protected Cerro Alto Ranch. Jeff and Joan Buckingham have generously offered to host a hike on their ranch this spring. The diverse soils, rock outcroppings, and terrain on the property make for an excellent show of wildflowers.
All docent-led ranch hikes require significant hiking experience. These properties are working ranches with untracked terrain. Ranch hikes will not provide the same experience as would hiking at local open spaces. Hikers should have experience with off-trail terrain. This includes steep, slippery/loose, rocky, and uneven surfaces. Ranch hikes may travel on existing dirt roads, but at times may require off-trail hiking over difficult terrain.
