Join Land Conservancy staff and docents for a private, Members Only hike on the spectacular Black Lake Ecological Area in the Guadalupe Nipomo Dunes. The hike will be approximately 3 miles long through rolling hills of loose sand and is considered moderate.
Black Lake Ecological Area is located west of Nipomo along the west side of Highway 1. Further directions will be provided in a confirmation email. Space is limited, advance rsvp is required.
Important details for an enjoyable hike:
Time: Our hike will start at 9am and we will be back in the parking lot by 11:30am.
Level: Moderate, 3 miles with minimal elevation gain. Terrain is loose sand which can be tiring to walk through.
Bring: Snacks, water, sunscreen, hat, hiking shoes, appropriate hiking clothing
Prepare: There may be ticks, poison oak, and rattlesnakes.
Land Conservancy staff will offer an optional tour of our nearby Kathleen’s Canyon Overlook conservation park after the hike. Prepare for an extra 20 minutes if you would like to join us!
