Pismo Preserve Docent-Led Equestrian Ride

March 3, 2017 - 10:00 - 2:00

This difficult/hard ride will start going south up the Lone Oak trail, to the Pismo View Trail stopping at the Preserve’s panhandle for lunch. The group will have lunch at the Avila Beach Overlook.  The group will then come back on the Panhandle trail to the Turret trail and back to the parking lot.  This ride will be approximately 8 miles and will take about 4 hours.

Please Note:

The Pismo Preserve is steep (800′ elevation gain in a mile), and has steep, narrow windy trails with exposure. Your horse (or mule) needs to be an experienced mountain horse that is in good condition and will stay on the trail. No stallions, no inexperienced or unconditioned trail horses, no “ponying”.

Be ready to ride at 10:00 am. The gates will open at 9:20 am and be locked before the ride starts.  Please share your trailer if possible.

Helmets are required.

Please bring a sack lunch, water for you and your horse, and dress in layers.

Space is limited! Please RSVP by emailing lc@lcslo.org.
