He joined the Land Conservancy Board of Trustees in 2009 after retiring from his position directing San Luis Obispo County Parks. A longtime advocate for outdoor recreation and land protection, Pete was instrumental in the success of the Dana Adobe Cultural Landscape project and a variety of other countywide conservation efforts.

Pete was awarded the Livable Community Award for his work on the County Parks and Recreation Element that was adopted by the Board of Supervisors in late 2006. He was the proud recipient of the “2007 Golden Bone Award” from North County’s Parks-4-Pups for his support in providing dog parks throughout the County, and he collaborated with local leaders in 2008 to implement strategies outlined in Governor Schwarzenegger’s “Children’s Outdoor Bill of Rights.”

Pete also serves on the Bay Foundation and San Luis Obispo Botanical Garden boards and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our organization. He lives in San Luis Obispo with his wife Karen.
